Managing Director Wilson Nkuranga is an accomplished engineer and architect who is passionate about the development of Rwanda. He was born and grew up as a refugee in Tanzania and moved back to Rwanda to complete his studies. After finishing his studies, he worked for a few construction companies and then started his own successful company that has built houses, schools, and biogas systems all over Rwanda. Wilson is passionate about water provision because of its impact on people – from children who can spend more time in school to farmers who can grow more crops to businessmen who can run their factories. He lives in Kigali and is responsible for running our operations in Rwanda.
Chairman of the Board Andrew Mang is passionate about creating a new ecosystem for water provision solutions and technologies. He graduated summa cum laude from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Economics and did research into water provision in the developing world. After graduation, he spent four and a half years at Yext in New York City, where he learned about sales, marketing, and business operations while helping the team grow the company from a small private company into a large public corporation. After Yext, he began working at Aswanet full-time and currently splits his time between the US and Africa.
Director General Oscar Odokonyero’s interest and contribution for the water and sanitation sector over the years has demonstrated that he is passionate about creating a sustainable water service provision to communities in the third world. He is a Water Engineer who hails from Kampala, Uganda. Oscar graduated from Kyambogo University in Kampala, and he has over ten years of experience with design, installation, and management of water and sanitation systems and technologies all over Uganda. Oscar has worked with several private and public organizations in the sector, including HORIZON 3000, WaterAid, and the Mukono District Local Government. Oscar has developed several relationships with local industry that will help Aswanet succeed and now works full time as director general of projects.
